Fran Brown is already living up to his status as the nation’s top recruiter. In his first complete recruiting cycle, Brown has locked in 34 players in Syracuse Football’s 2025 recruiting class.
This is four more than the next-highest team in the nation.
Brown also finished his first season sporting a healthy (9-3) record which should bring many great players to the program.
Below are a few samples of players ready to bring their talents to the Orange in the 2025 season.
Syracuse Football’s 2025 Recruiting Class
Luke Carney– QB: Dallas Christian School (TX)
Carney is the program-changing quarterback in Syracuse Football’s 2025 Recruiting class that the program hopes him to be as he arrives on campus.
The 6′ 2″, 205 lb. dual threat can make all the accurate throws with his strong arm talent and has developed into a mature leader.
He also has wheels, as he can run with his legs and extend them on plays by gaining that physical, tough yard to pick up first downs.
Carney had offers from fellow ACC schools in California, Georgia Tech, and Louisville.
But he ultimately put his Texan Christian faith into Brown’s vision of winning the ACC and National Championships.
Carney played in good competition in the football state of Texas.
If Syracuse doesn’t choose another transfer portal option, Carney could start as a true freshman quarterback in week 1 vs. Tennessee next season.
Darien Williams– WR: Christian Brothers Academy (NY)
Williams played high school ball at the local football power Christian Brothers Academy and is among NY state’s top prospects.
His ten scholarship offers included power four brands: Boston College, Penn State, and Pittsburgh. But his heart told him to stay home and commit to Syracuse.
At 6’0″ 170 lbs, Williams is both a playmaker and speedster when he gets open to make a catch.
I would compare him to a Tyreek Hill or Xaiver Worthy type of receiver.
Both receivers are successful in the NFL and are uncoverable with the ball in their hands.
Quante Gillians– DE: Aquinas Insitute (NY)
Gillians is another top-rated recruit in New York State and with good reason. The 6’4″, 278 lb. defensive lineman has a lean build, making him play quicker than his true weight.
The Aquinas star had offers from other ACC schools, including Boston College, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, and SMU.
He chose Syracuse to stay home and team up with Darien Williams, whom he can try to face off against during practice.
More vitally, he is the #1 prospect in the State of New York and has a previous Syracuse connection on Aquinas with Maurice Jackson, who is in his second season as head coach of the Lil Irish.
Gillians is quick off the line and can wreak havoc in the running back’s backfield and sack the quarterback if needed.
Look for Gillians to come in and work hard in the offseason for a chance at early playing time as a true freshman.
Julian McFadden– WR: LaSalle College High School (PA)
McFadden is another speedster at wideout for Syracuse Football’s 2025 recruiting class, which has been added to their already loaded number of commits.
Much like Williams, McFadden is always finding a way to get open and is uncoverable against DBs.
At 5’11”, 170 lbs, McFadden is a dynamic football player who will put the SU faithful on its feet.
Speaking of faithful, McFadden was raised in a god-fearing household. That will translate well to coach Brown’s god-fearing football program.
McFadden did have 11 offers but chose Syracuse because of the coaches and the values they stand by.
There are so many commitments in Syracuse Football’s 2025 Recruiting Class that some stand out more than others.
While the Orange still needs to finish this season with a win in the Holiday Bowl against Washington State, it’s great to know that the future is bright for 2025 and beyond.
