New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, shared on Thursday that his surgery to fix a torn Achilles tendon in his left leg went great.
Rodgers, who is 39 years old, got hurt during his first game with the Jets in Week 1. It was only the fourth play of the game when the injury happened, and it ended his season.

Rodgers’ Successful Surgery
Rodgers shared news of his surgery on Instagram. The surgery was done by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, a specialist from Los Angeles, who has worked with many pro athletes.
In his Instagram post, Rodgers said, “Surgery went great yesterday. Thanks for all the love, prayers and support. And thanks to Dr. ElAttrache and his team for starting my recovery journey.”
Recovery and Future Outlook
Rodgers has a lot of rehab ahead of him, which will take many months. He talked about his injury for the first time on Instagram the day before his surgery. He wrote, “I’m really sad about this, going through lots of feelings, but I’m touched and thankful for all the love and support. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I start getting better.”
He added, “Things are tough right now, but I’ll bounce back.”
The Jets’ coach, Robert Saleh, and owner, Woody Johnson, both think Rodgers will come back in 2024. Saleh said, “I’d be surprised if this is how he ends his career.” He also mentioned that he hasn’t talked to Rodgers yet about what’s next because Rodgers needs time to deal with his feelings.
Before the injury, Rodgers had talked about wanting to play for several more years with the Jets. He’s signed with the team until 2025 and is supposed to get $38 million in 2024.
