The Kansas City Chiefs will once again have the final pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, marking the second consecutive year. This is a result of their success as back-to-back Super Bowl champions. Even though people consider the Chiefs the top team in the NFL, they still need to address certain areas in the upcoming draft. With the 32nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Kansas City Chiefs has a variety of options to consider for their selection. Here are two potential draft targets that the Chiefs may choose.
Troy Franklin (WR -; Oregon)
The Kansas City Chiefs have faced challenges in filling the gap left by Tyreek Hill’s departure to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. Despite this, they have managed to win consecutive Super Bowls. Rashee Rice showed promise in the latter part of the previous season but is currently dealing with off-field issues that may impact his availability for the 2024 season.
The Chiefs added Marquise Brown to the team in free agency on a one-year deal, but they might still consider drafting a wide receiver in the first round. Troy Franklin, a player with a similar style to Brown, could serve as a part-time player in his rookie season before taking on a more prominent role in the offense in 2025 when Brown’s contract expires.
Jordan Morgan (OT -; Arizona)
The Chiefs made changes to their offensive line last year by signing Jawaan Taylor and Donovan Smith to replace their starting offensive tackles lost in free agency. Taylor remains on the team, but Smith is currently a free agent. Both new starters had difficulties in the 2023 season.
Wanya Morris, a third-round pick from last year’s draft, was brought in to compete for the starting left tackle position. However, he may face competition from Jordan Morgan, a highly regarded prospect in mock drafts who could also play guard. Morgan has the potential to challenge Morris for the starting spot and potentially replace guard Trey Smith in the future.
