The 2023 NFL season is officially over. It is draft season! The Denver Broncos are living to regret the Russell Wilson trade. Rumors are the team is looking to cut him, saddling the team with an enormous dead cap hit. This is on top of giving up picks for Sean Payton. The team needs cheap talent and a reset. Here is the Denver Broncos 2024 NFL Draft guide.

The Denver Broncos have six picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

  • Round 1: No. 12 overall
  • Round 3: No. 76 overall (via New Orleans)
  • Round 4: No. 122 overall (via Miami)
  • Round 5: No. 144 overall
  • Round 5: No. 146 overall (via New York)
  • Round 7: No. 237 overall (via San Francisco)

The Denver Broncos do not have much to work with in 2024. Having only two picks in the top 100 is not what a team that is trying to rebuild wants. Furthermore, having the 12th pick means they will likely miss out on the top of premium position groups. With the limited capital, the Broncos need to pick the best players available and hope they can contribute right away.

The Denver Broncos need the following positions: QB, EDGE, CB, DL, WR

The Denver Broncos need a quarterback. However, unless they give up more draft picks, that isn’t likely to happen. It isn’t like the team doesn’t have other needs. They have traded away pass rush pieces over the past two seasons and need to rebuild the defensive line. Furthermore, the cornerback position could use some support for Patrick Surtain.

The team could stand to upgrade their skill position group as well. Jerry Jeudy hasn’t become the true number-one receiver. Courtland Sutton was solid last season, but the team needs more weapons on offense. Again, picking 12th makes it difficult to get the top-tier talent, so they will be looking for value.

Mock drafts are done on NFL Mock Draft Database. No trades were executed. Obviously, teams tend to wheel and deal, but this is meant to give a look at what the team can do with the draft capital they currently have.

The defense was an issue for the Denver Broncos, and they picked up one of the top cornerbacks in the draft. Arnold is a great corner who will come in and start right away. From there, the Broncos get some good value up and down the board. Ohio State’s Hall Jr. is a solid lineman. Burton and Sinnott are good pass-catchers with upside. The same can be said for Harrell out of Michigan.

The quarterback position is deep, but once you get past Spencer Rattler, it really dries up. Because of the draft capital they have, unless the team takes Bo Nix or Michael Penix Jr. with the 12th pick, they have to wait. Pratt comes out of Tulane with a lot of experience and could win the starting job, depending on who else is on the roster.

The Denver Broncos are in a weird spot. They need to rebuild but do not have the resources to do it. The team has to deal with the consequences of past decisions and hope for the best in 2024.
